Our Founding Principles

Expert Physician Services was built on a simple conviction: the most complex medical questions deserve answers from the physicians who face them every day.

We are a team of physicians — all Certified Life Care Planners (CLCP) — representing the full spectrum of medical care. From emergency medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, neuroradiology, pain management, and anesthesia, and complemented by experience in law and medical business administration, our team understands the full scope of care. Together, we cover every phase of a case, from the initial injury and diagnosis, to the treatments, procedures, surgery, and lifelong management needed to address them.

That breadth is deliberate. Having practiced within hospital systems, university medical centers, private practices, and ambulatory surgical centers, and working directly with the medical device industry, we understand not only how care is delivered, but how it is documented, coded, billed, and explained. When we analyze a case, we see the whole picture — the medicine, the coordination, and the true cost.

The Team Approach

The idea behind Expert Physician Services grew directly from Dr. Mattie's training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. In residency, physiatrists learn that the best outcomes are never the work of one person — they come from a coordinated team. The PM&R physician leads and orchestrates every aspect of a patient's treatment and recovery: directing trauma rehabilitation for complex spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury, working hand in hand with neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery, guiding physical, occupational, speech, and neurocognitive therapy, preparing patients to transition back to function at home and in their communities, and providing the lifelong care that maximizes independence and quality of life.

That same team-based philosophy is the foundation of Expert Physician Services — and the reason our work succeeds for the clients who rely on us.
